When you book a room at The Y Hostel or City Lodge, you're doing more than sorting out a great night's sleep — you're helping to strengthen communities across Aotearoa.
As a not-for-profit organisation with over 150 years of history in New Zealand, The Y is built on the values of manaakitanga – caring for others. We reinvest every dollar of net proceeds into programmes that support families, rangatahi (young people), and tamariki (children) across Auckland and the Waikato.
That includes initiatives like Raise Up (our youth development programme), Send a School to Camp (getting Kiwi kids out into nature), and Fee Assistance that makes swimming lessons, sports teams, out of school care or early learning more accessible for families doing it tough. It's all part of our mission to make sure every Kiwi – no matter their background – has access to experiences that help them thrive.
So whether you’re a globetrotter on a gap year, a school group in town for a tournament, or just passing through for the weekend — know that your stay is helping others.
