The Y Hostel Terms & Conditions
1. Bond for Long-Stay Guests (7+ Nights):
A $50 refundable bond is required for all stays of 7 nights or more.
The bond is payable at check-in and may be used to cover:
Damages to rooms or property
Excessive cleaning
Unpaid charges or incidentals
Provided no issues arise, the bond will be refunded within 5–10 working days after check-out.
2. Credit Card Pre-Authorisation for Short-Stay Guests (Less than 7 Nights):
A $50 credit card pre-authorisation is required for all stays of less than 7 nights.
This is a temporary hold (not a charge) and will be released by your bank after departure, typically within 7–10 working days, depending on your card provider.
Guests must provide a valid credit card at check-in. Failure to do so may result in refusal of accommodation.
3. Age Restrictions:
Guests must be 18 years or older to stay independently.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over, staying in the same room or dorm.
Valid photo identification is required at check-in to verify age.
4. General Conditions:
All guests are responsible for the condition of their room and shared spaces.
The hostel reserves the right to withhold part or all the bond or pre-authorised amount in the event of damage, misconduct, or breach of hostel rules.
